Our response to the UK Government's consultation on a total online advertising restriction for products high in fat, sugar and salt (HFSS) - December 2020

The UK Government held a consultation asking for views on their proposal for a total online advertising restriction for HFSS products to reduce the amount of HFSS advertising children are exposed to online.

The consultation sought feedback on:

• what types of advertising will be restricted
• who will be liable for compliance
• enforcement of the restrictions

We support a ban on the advertising of HFSS products online, and highlight some concerns we have with the proposals put forward by the Government, in our consultation response.

The consultation closed at midnight on Tuesday 22nd December 2020.
