The early adopter process highlighted the need to ensure there was adequate balance between local ownership and local identification of actions and the strong and well developed evidence base.
The process outlined on previous pages highlights the importance of involving all the participants that represent the system. It was clear that there also needed to be a way to present those participants with the evidence base that is available for this issue. At that point the process could achieve greater recognition of the upstream determinants of health and the need for revidence informed actions.
Obesity Action Scotland commissioned a report, funded by Scottish Government, to identify the local levers available in Scotland that could positively impact diet and healthy weight.
